About Me
Hi, I’m Sarah Simkin, M.S., CCC-SLP, and I’ve been a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist since 2008. I hold a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from California State University, Northridge, and am certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed in the state of California.
I’m a mother to two amazing girls, Joey and Lulu, and married to my partner, Jordan. (That’s us below—on a beach in Mexico!)

Over the past 15+ years, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including children’s hospitals, home health, public schools, and charter programs. Most recently, I served as the lead SLP for a virtual charter school, conducting comprehensive speech-language assessments across grade levels while also maintaining a small private practice.
I’ve since transitioned to this work full time, focusing exclusively on:
-
Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs)
-
Contracted speech and language assessments for schools and charter programs
-
Consultations for families, teachers, and school teams
-
Speaking engagements and workshops for parent communities and professional development

This shift reflects my deep commitment to providing thorough, legally aligned evaluations, collaborative support, and actionable recommendations that help students thrive. I continue to have a special interest in working with neurodiverse learners and supporting the systems around them with practical tools and clarity.
